On this R-data statistics page, you will find information about the CoolingWater data set which pertains to CoolingWater. The CoolingWater data set is found in the mosaicData R package. You can load the CoolingWater data set in R by issuing the following command at the console data("CoolingWater"). This will load the data into a variable called CoolingWater. If R says the CoolingWater data set is not found, you can try installing the package by issuing this command install.packages("mosaicData") and then attempt to reload the data. If you need to download R, you can go to the R project website. You can download a CSV (comma separated values) version of the CoolingWater R data set. The size of this file is about 1,844 bytes. CoolingWaterDescriptionTemperature of a mug of water as it cools Usagedata(CoolingWater) FormatA data frame with 222 observations of the following variables.
DetailsThe water was poured into a mug and a temperature probe inserted into the water with a few seconds of the pour. SourceThese data were collected Stan Wagon to help his mathematical modeling students explore Newton's Law of Cooling and the ways that the law is really only an approximation.
